If you have an ex-partner, co-parenting is not optional. It's one of the most important jobs you have. And most guys are bombing it — not because they don't care, but because they don't have a framework for handling the hardest relationship of their life while also being a dad.
First: acknowledge the cost.
Every time you get into a text war with your ex, it costs you energy that should go to your kids. It costs them peace. It costs you credibility. The people who lose most in a parental conflict are the children, and they can't even vote with their feet.
